Babehoven - "Maybe I'm Bitter" Official Video

Official music video for "Maybe I'm Bitter" off of our upcoming EP "Demonstrating Visible Difference of Height" (full EP out 2/7/2020). Animated and directed by Brin Gordon. “Maybe I’m Bitter” is about the surreal and overwhelming aspects of life that mound on top of one another, eventually leading to a deep state of dissociation. The song is carried like a meditation, starting in subtlety and ending in a swirl of sounds and layers. Working with sound artist Ryan Albert (of Pornog and The Metabolic Studio) as instrumentalist, engineer, and co-producer, Babehoven opens a new chapter of sonic development and songwriting. Of the track, Babehoven explains: “This song is about the emotional aftermath of a loss of home, a loss of trust, and a splintering of family. It is a personal attempt to encapsulate what dissociation feels like in my life.” Director and Animator Brin Gordon is a transdisciplinary artist and Pataphysician who uses writing, performance, and video to explore processes of meaning. Their work looks at the intersections and boundaries between forms of knowledge as diverse as poetics, science, and common sense to study the ways in which subjectivity is created and in turn creates the world around it. They are currently earning their masters degree in Experimental Animation at California Institute of the Arts. View more of their work at: https://vimeo.com/brinsgordon
