We ventured into the dangerous rapids of Puerto Ayacucho to try and catch the legendary Yellow Toruno. It wasn't easy. We had to: Walk on hot coals: The black granite rocks reach temperatures of almost 70°C (158°F), we could feel the heat seeping through our shoes! Brave the current: We crossed hanging wooden bridges and jumped between giant boulders amidst raging rapids. Survive the sun: Hours of extreme exposure in one of the hottest spots on the Orinoco River. In the end, nature rewarded us with an impressive specimen.
