Behind the scenes at a Nevada gold mine 2,200 feet below ground

Nevada has a long history of mining — and it’s still leading the nation in gold production today. We went nearly half a mile underground at Turquoise Ridge, one of Nevada’s largest operating gold mines, to see how 900 workers produce about 500,000 ounces of gold each year.
