Morning Devotional for Little Ones | Saturday, July 18, 2026 =================== The Great Gift of God's Peace Today's Verse "Return to God and be at peace; then good will come to you." — Job 22:21 (NIV) The Story for You Have you ever fought or been angry with a friend and felt a sad, unpleasant feeling in your heart? How wonderful it feels when you apologize, give each other a big hug, and play together again joyfully. Making peace with the people we love brings back our smiles. In chapter 22, the final round of speeches by Job's friends begins. Eliphaz speaks for the third time. Although he was still mistaken in thinking that Job was suffering because of great sins, he gave him advice that leaves us with a beautiful truth for our lives. Eliphaz told Job, “Return to God. If you put aside your pride, reconcile yourself to Him, and treasure His words in your heart, you will have wonderful peace.” He also assured Job that the Almighty would become his precious gold and silver, meaning that God would be his greatest treasure. He promised that when Job prayed, God would hear him, and that a bright light would illuminate all his paths. Although Job had never stopped being God’s friend, this advice reminds us of something very important today. The secret to living happily and peacefully is not having many expensive toys or mountains of money, but being the best of friends with Jesus. When we pray every day, read His word, and treasure His teachings in our hearts, a great peace floods our home. With Jesus by our side, good things always come, and our hearts are filled with the most valuable treasure in the universe! Your Activity • The Treasure Chest: Find a small box at home. Write the word JESUS ​​on a piece of paper and place it inside the box. Put the box in a special place in the living room to remind yourself that Jesus is the greatest treasure in your home and that His friendship brings us true peace. Let's pray: Dear Jesus, thank you for being my best friend and the most precious treasure in my life. I ask you to fill my heart and my home with your beautiful peace. Help me to keep your words in my mind and to obey you joyfully every day.
