7th Annual Sanatan Gram Mahotsav 2026

On the auspicious occasion of Bwngali New Year, Poila Baisakh, we are sharing the essence of the 7th Annual Sanatan Gram Mahotsav celebratio which took place on 26th and 27th January 2026 at Sanatan Siddhashram, Birbhum (West Bengal). It was a two-day celebration infused with devotion and joy. The first day witnessed the beautiful ritual of Bhog Aroti, invoking the blessings and presence of the param Gurus of the Baul lineages. Over 30 Baul Sadhus, Goshai Maa and Goshai Baba graces the celebration with their auspicious presence. Parvathy Maa ushered the evening celebrations with Sandhya Aroti and a felicitation of Deb Das Baul and Kanai Das Baul for their invaluable contribution to Baul by spreading the fragrance of Baul across the globe for over six decades. The day before the celebration, a special moment transpired. Deb Das Baul, who has been unwell for a long time, was visited by Maa Parvathy Baul along with other senior Baul masters at his residence to felicitate him with Sanatan Puraskar award in his home. This beautiful and very touching moment was captured in video and later screened at the Mahotsav which due to his health he could not attend in person. All night Baul akhara sangeet unfurled with the incessant flow of Baul wisdom. Songs contemplating sadhana, bhakti, prem bhav nourished all anuragees. This beautiful Baul Gyan Yajna concluded with a Goshto Gaan performance conceptualised by Parvathy Maa and presented under her guidance by some of her Sishyas from 6-7 in the morning. On the second day, a vibrant procession led by Maa Parvathy Baul to the villages along with children of Subarna Balya Gyan program and ashram sevaks reached the neighbouring villages. The children of the Subarna Balya Gyan Hriday Golden Child program presented their newly scripted theatre play depicting Shri Shashanko Goshai's life. With blessings of all Sadhus, anna seva was offered to over ten thousand villagers. Delicious kichri, payas and vegetables curry was lovingly cooked from early hours. As villagers flooded to partake the prasa (sacred, blessed food), sevaks at Sanatan Siddhashram felt beautiful blessings flowing in from all sides.
