All-New Announcement: Museum Quality HO Scale Union Pacific GE U50C

Preorder here: https://www.scaletrains.com/ho-scale/... Our Museum Quality HO Scale GE U50C faithfully captures every nuance of this legendary locomotive. Each unit features frog “clank,” curve squeal sounds, and the many railroad, road number, and era-specific details you expect from ScaleTrains’ premier brand. Every model includes prototype-correct LED lighting effects, including tri-color class lights, illuminated number boards, a fully detailed cab interior, rotating bearing caps, a beacon, and authentic operational lighting behavior. Per the prototype, there are no ground lights above the trucks, and the roof radiator features etched grilles rather than see-through mesh. These models also debut our new ESU-designed speaker housing with a passive speaker system – making the U50C the first ScaleTrains locomotive to feature this all-new audio design. Just like the prototypes, every road number is different. Variations include: • Units delivered with and without nose doors • Different lifting lug hatches • Changes in striping and ACI label placement • Early “as-delivered” appearances versus later modified and repainted phases • Subtle truck and suspension rigging differences • Unique details such as step cutouts, oil cooler configurations, and bearing cap styles Paint Schemes: • Union Pacific/As Delivered Early • Union Pacific/Dependable Transportation/Modified Nose Door • Union Pacific/Modified Nose Door • Union Pacific/As Delivered Late • Union Pacific/We Can Handle It Everything about this model is brand new, with even the trucks featuring subtle but important differences from unit to unit. That level of precision mirrors the prototype itself. No two U50Cs were truly alike, and every road number in this release represents a distinct phase in the locomotive’s short but fascinating career. Preorders for the Museum Quality HO Scale GE U50C are due Monday, February 23rd, for delivery this fall.
