I Paddled 40+km For What??

For weeks I couldn't stop thinking about one fish - Yellowfin tuna, out past the Hen and Chicken Islands. A mate had paddled out and had a shot at them, and that was all it took. This video is two sessions of chasing that obsession: one trip turned back by the weather (but saved by a few kingfish and a catch & cook with Dan), and one rare glassy window where I paddled solo all the way out to Sail Rock and back - 42km, one of the biggest battles I've ever taken on from the kayak. The tuna didn't show. But this one was never really about the catch. 🎣 Paddled on a Stealth Elite 530 Hybrid | Filmed on the water in Northland, New Zealand If you enjoyed the journey, subscribe and come along for the next chapter — the hunt's not over. #kayakfishing #yellowfintuna #stealthkayaks #nzfishing #kingfish Chapters 0:00 The obsession 0:30 Where it started , a photo and a rumour 1:20 Session 1: the weather wins 3:30 Snaps & Kingfish to the rescue 8:30 The window opens — going solo 9:10 The dawn paddle to Sail Rock + dolphins! 10:30 Live baits down… and the long wait 12:45 The ocean gives me nothing 14:00 The 42km battle home
