It's the fruit of a flawed theology about who God is to you. And today we're breaking down the wall to find the root. Imagine a leak at home. You put tape on it, wipe it down—but the water keeps appearing on the floor. After much frustration, you discover that the problem wasn't where the water was leaking. It was a broken pipe hidden inside the wall. Anxiety is the puddle of water on the floor. It's the visible symptom. The broken pipe is something else. Deep down, anxiety doesn't come from your bank balance or circumstances. It comes from a hidden belief: that God's help depends on your worthiness. "If I'm good, He'll help me." And since you know you're never good enough, you live in constant insecurity—waiting for the moment when God will leave you alone. Jesus confronted this in Matthew 6:25-26. He didn't say, "Don't be anxious because things will get better." He said, "Your heavenly Father sustains them." The answer to anxiety isn't a promise—it's an identity. You're not a creature trying to earn attention. You're a child. Romans 8:15 confirms: We did not receive a spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but the Spirit of adoption, by whom we cry, "Abba, Father!" Abba isn't formal. It's Daddy. It's the first word a child learns to say. Anxiety is an orphan mentality. Rest is a child mentality. Grab your coffee.
