Mark 5:35 — Jairus was there, revived by seeing the miracle of the woman with the issue of blood, when someone arrived from his house with the news: "Your daughter is dead. There's no point in bothering the Master anymore." One second he was full of faith. The next, the fact screamed: "It's over. It's too late." This is exactly where most people stop. When the event becomes too big — a death, a diagnosis, a failure — we think that prayer has lost its meaning. But Mark 5:36 records Jesus' immediate reaction: He ignored the messenger. He didn't deny that the girl was dead. He simply ignored death as the final word and said to Jairus: "Do not be afraid; only believe." The problem isn't the situation worsening. It's faith faltering. Jesus knew that the miracle didn't depend on the girl's life—it depended on Jairus's unwavering faith. Facts are changeable. Truth is eternal. And Jesus was saying: use the miracle you just witnessed to strengthen the faith that brought you this far. If you began the journey believing, don't stop because the situation has worsened.
