Stabsbataillon 6 übt mit Sanitätszentrum West auf der Wattener Lizum

Final exercise of Staff Battalion 6 at the Wattener Lizum military training area: Together with the Upper and Lower Land Infantry Company, a training company with cadre candidates, and the West Medical Center, Staff Battalion 6 of the 6th Mountain Brigade is practicing a complex scenario in alpine terrain. The focus of the battle is an attack on a fictitious terrorist cell that has entrenched itself and built a dirty (radioactive) bomb. While the company is lining up, NBC defense and medical personnel are on standby to protect their own forces and care for the wounded. The soldiers are practicing realistic exercises such as attacking on the move, patient decontamination after a radioactive attack, and first aid, including surgery. Around 600 soldiers, supported by eight pack animals and over 100 vehicles, are demonstrating their operational capability. Commander Lieutenant Colonel Plattner takes stock and shows how diverse and demanding service in the largest small unit of the Austrian Armed Forces is.
