Folklore and Memory from the Ballygarrett area of Co. Wexford.
Here's a 30 minute recording from 2006 of my grandmother, my father and his brother Jim. This was a chance recording as Jim was home on holiday from England and I got all three together. It is unplanned chat but goes from one thing to another nicely. Loads of stories and folklore here from strange lights, the fairies, the banshee and death customs etc. Too much to cover here and all very local. I had imported a copy of this tape a few years ago but this is the high definition original - so video is good and clear. All three have since passed away. Text: Michael Fortune
