Dr. Bow, MD., from Krabi Province, has been a 30-year-old veterinarian caring for elephants at the Krabi Elephant Hospital, under the Forest Industry Organization, for five years. Her primary duties include treating approximately 800 elephants throughout southern Thailand. In addition to her elephant care, she also has to care for her mother, who suffers from Alzheimer's. Since her work and home are close by, she has had her mother stay with her at the elephant hospital. Two years ago, Dr. Bow told her father she was resigning from being an elephant veterinarian, as her body and mind were failing due to the overwhelming workload. If she had to choose between her elephants and her mother, she wouldn't be able to, as she loved both. She truly wanted to return to care for her mother, but her father wanted her to choose what she enjoyed more, so she could pursue her career in the future. Dr. Bow's journey as a veterinarian began when her dog became ill. A late visit to the veterinarian resulted in its death. Dr. Bow chose to pursue veterinary medicine to ensure timely treatment for animals. Today, Dr. Bow shares her insights into the treatment of various illnesses, including musth and rampage, which led to the use of tranquilizers. Even though Dr. Bow didn't administer the tranquilizer herself, she was able to deliver it with precision thanks to her training and practice. Another shocking story: a baby elephant invaded the studio! Dr. Bow brought the baby elephant, Phrai Ratchaburi, for a live health check-up on stage. Let me tell you, she's truly adorable!
