Austin Wai 惠天赐 - actor - action director Born in Shandong in 1957, Austin Wai 惠天赐 studied Beijing Opera 京劇 during his childhood at the Spring and Autumn Drama School 春秋戲劇學校 under famed teacher Madame Fan Fok-Fah 粉菊花, alongside other Hong Kong movie legends such as Lam Ching-Ying 林正英, Stephen Tung Wai 董瑋, Mang Hoi 孟海, and many more. He began his film career working as a stuntman for the Shaw Brothers and the Sammo Hung's stunt team 洪家班. Although he had incredible potential for a stellar career ahead, his pending lead role status did not happen after he incurred a severe back injury in 1979. After that, he played many supporting roles in martial arts and wuxia movies, and in TVB series, eventually becoming a successful action director as well.
