The Hudson Bay Tinderbox was trade by the Hudson Bay Trading Company that was based in Canada during the fur trade era. As a traditional ‘Flint & Steel’ fire lighting tinderbox it has to rank amongst the very best tinderboxes ever made. The Hudson Bay is available in several metallic finishes that include German Silver, Tin Plate, Solid Copper and Solid Brass. Each Hudson Bay comes complete with a 6x magnification lens with a focal length of about 50mm or 2-inches. The lens is not limited to being used for solar fire lighting as it can be used for reading small print or for finding a small splinter that may have become stuck in a finger etc. etc. Inside the Hudson Bay Tinderbox itself there will be the following items: 1) A hand forged Hudson Bay style Oval Steel 2) A piece of natural Flint that has been specially knapped for us by William Lord 3) A piece of natural Amadou tinder 4) Char Cloth tinder 5) Three pieces of natural Jute Tinder Cord 6) Ten Sulphur Matches and 7) Full instructions about using the great little Tinderbox.
