Making a Ceramic Candle Vessel (Pottery Process) | A Candle Cup Made for Quiet Moments

This candle cup feels different once the flame is lit. It is wheel-thrown, trimmed by hand, and finished with a Jun-style glaze. The piece is fired at 1300°C, creating natural variations in color and texture that respond beautifully to candlelight. The glaze softens. The light spreads. Shadows appear where there were none before. We made this cup by hand and fired it at high temperature, knowing that the final surface would only reveal itself after the kiln — and again after the candle was lit. It’s not just a container for wax. It’s part of the ritual. A small pause at the end of the day. A quiet moment on a dark table. A little fire, held by clay. This is what we love about handmade ceramics — the object doesn’t feel complete until it’s used. Junora Handmade Stories Made by hand. Finished by fire. #ceramiccandle #candlecup #handmadeceramics #junporcelain #potteryprocess #junora #kilnfired #glazeceramics #slowliving
