Time to hit reset on Chicago Marathon
I think it might be time for us to hit the reset button on this Chicago Marathon build. The last couple of videos have been pretty heavy on the lows (classic marathon roller coaster energy 😅) and honestly, I’ve felt a bit stuck. My body hasn’t been playing ball, motivation has been low, and after Falmouth I just wanted to stop. But… here we are, trying again. In this video I’m giving you a full update on how things are going physically and mentally, what the past two weeks have actually looked like, and bringing you along for a very big workout: a 21 mile long run session that should give us a real indication of where I’m at. I’m also sitting down with John to talk through whether Chicago is still on the cards (we promised a check-in every two weeks so here it is 👀). As of filming, we’re just over 6 weeks out from race day, which feels wild. If you’ve ever had a build-up where nothing seems to go smoothly, hopefully this one feels relatable.
