Saying “No” to Gender-based Violence in Kenya
Nafula Wafula founded the SEMA Initiative (http://www.semagbv.org/) to empower Kenyan youth to combat gender-based violence (GBV) and enact behavior and policy changes toward gender equality. By training youth to lead workshops, events, and GBV help desks in their communities, the initiative has reached over 4,000 young Kenyans. Watch as Nafula, a Laureate Global Fellow, shares her story—and SEMA’s approach—at a conference sponsored by the International Youth Foundation, Laureate International Universities, and the Center for Strategic and International Studies on October 8, 2015.
