Fish of the Day

After releasing the fish in my last thunderstorm video I decided to head back to my truck. I elected to stay in the river, rather than walk across the featureless paddocks as the thunderstorm got nearer. As I headed back I carried out a few half-hearted drifts through any water I thought may hold a fish. As I was nearing the point I would leave the river for a short dash to the road I came across a pool I haven't visited this season. I decided to fish this a little more thoroughly, and I was rewarded with my "fish of the day". The equipment that caught this fish as follows: The rod is a Loomis & Franklin IM12 11' #3 weight. The reel is a Sage ESN. The fly line is an Airflo SLN Euro Nymph Comp Special. The leader is 30' 12lb mono, to 10' of 3X Fluorocarbon to the point fly. I tie my own Euro flies. I usually only use two patterns all year. Both are linked here. The point fly was    • Pheasant Tail Nymph - Version 2.0   tied on a size 10 Barbless jig hook with a 4.5mm slotted bead. At the time of filming this video I was still testing a small, weighted Pheasant Tailed nymph on the dropper tag. This is the one that hooked this fish. The tying video for this fly is    • Euro Pheasant Tail - Guide Fly (Rev 3.0)  . Filming equipment as follows: Chest Camera - DJI Osmo Action 6 4K at 50fps recorded in D Log-M. B-Roll Camera - DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro4K at 50fps recorded in D Log-M. Car Camera - DJI Osmo 360 8K at 50fps recorded in D Log-M. Editing Software: Black Magic Davinci Resolve version 20. Edited using an I-Mac M4.
