CDW Friday: Caregivers & Caregiving in Halton

Caregiving is an essential yet often invisible part of Canada’s social and economic fabric. This unpaid support sustains families, communities, and health systems, but also brings emotional, financial, and practical challenges, particularly for women, midlife adults, and those balancing care across generations. This Community Data Watch (CDW) explores the landscape of caregiving and caregivers in Halton, within the broader Canadian context. In this video, we are joined by a panel of content experts who discuss some of the major themes of this report from their work and direct lived experience in our communities. We discuss some of the major gaps and barriers in siloed systems, as well as the opportunities to engage and hold space for one another as we normalize these conversations together.
