Virginia Woolf: La señora Dalloway

Although each of Virginia Woolf's works has its own particularities and outstanding qualities, many argue that it is in "Mrs. Dalloway" that the English author reached her greatest expressive heights and, along with Joyce's "Ulysses," established the contemporary novel. This unusual story introduces us to two dissimilar characters: Clarissa cannot, and perhaps does not want to, escape a terribly ordinary way of life; Septimus, for his part, longs to forget his wartime experiences and live a conventional life, but the labyrinths of his mind distance him from it, creating a gap between his perception and reality. These characters share a day in London in June 1923, a date forever etched in the memory of her readers.
