In this video, we take you to this special place in the south of the island – including turtle spotting, a leisurely stroll around the lake, and delicious food in a taverna right on the shore. 📍 Where is Lake Zaros? Lake Zaros (Greek: Λίμνη του Ζαρού) is located near the village of Zaros, at the foot of the Psiloritis Mountains. It was artificially created in the 1980s and is approximately 16,000 square meters in size. 🐢 What makes the lake so special? Numerous animals live in and around the lake – especially turtles, ducks, and chickens. Swimming and fishing are prohibited here to protect the animals, but a relaxing walk around the lake (about 15 minutes) is absolutely worth it. 🥗 Our tip: Be sure to stop at the taverna right on the water!
