This session I really wanted to catch something that would give me a good scrap and what better fish to target than the barbel. Arguably the hardest fishing freshwater fish in the UK. This time of year they can be pretty tricky to catch. Colder temperatures can make them quite lethargic and tricky to track down, but persistence pays off as I found out in this session.
