KOMPAS.TV – The panel of judges at the East Jakarta District Court granted the exception or objection filed by Tifauziah Tyassuma, also known as Doctor Tifa, in the alleged slander and defamation case related to allegations about the diploma of the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo. The judges considered that the formulation of the alternative indictment created legal uncertainty because it indicated doubt, preventing the examination of the main case from proceeding. The decision was welcomed by Roy Suryo, who noted that the material indictment in his case was similar to Doctor Tifa's case. Roy hopes the interim decision can be used as a consideration for other related cases. Hibnu Nugroho, Professor of Law at Jenderal Soedirman University, explained that the interim decision granting Doctor Tifa's exception means the case is considered non-existent, unless the prosecutor pursues other legal remedies. However, Hibnu emphasized that Roy Suryo's case cannot be simply equated because the prosecutor could have prepared a more detailed indictment. On the other hand, Ahmad Khozinudin, Roy Suryo's former legal advisor, offered a different response. According to him, the suspension of the trial prevented Joko Widodo from appearing in court to present the diploma in question. He also criticized Roy Suryo's pretrial motion.
