Honda CL 350. First start and ride since 1978
This Honda CL 350 came to me as a non runner and it seemingly hadn't run for 30 or 40 years. The sticker on the fork ear states that last time it was legally on the road was 1978, and the tyres were the original factory fittings which might support the odometer figure of less ten thousand miles and the sticker. In the interim some well meaning but mechanically unsympathetic owner has had a go to get it running and made anything that was ailing the bike, much worse. The starter motor and associated mechanism was in a very poor state and the valve timing was out. Fortunately the underlying build quality and engineering of these sweet little bikes is such that with some time and relatively (how much do we lose monthly on our car values?) modest cash investment it's made a really pretty example again. Hope you enjoy the vid. Apologies for the camera on the run out being set so low. It was the first time I've attempted it and I'll do better next time. if you have any 60's/70's bikes you'd like to sell or that would make a good story or indeed know of any, please mail me on [email protected] and I'll get back to you. Finally, as I'll be putting this films up weekly, if you like bike stuff please subscribe and hit the notification bell. Best, Rod
