Fishing, Food & Fireworks | Hythe Beach Sea Fishing 5th November 2025

We headed down to Hythe Beach full of hope for a great session — the sea looked perfect! It had a nice lump on it, coloured water, and all the signs of being a good bass day. I was dreaming of one… take note I said dreaming! 😂 The day started off strong with Connor landing a small pouting on his first cast, just as I was cooking up breakfast sausage muffins on the beach. I was hoping that early action was a sign of things to come — but the day passed by with not even a knock. Once darkness fell though, everything changed. The bites picked up and we were soon catching dogfish, whiting, pouting, and even a few eels. The highlight was a lovely sole big enough for the table — now on its way to my belly! 😋 We also got treated to a free fireworks display from the beach, and even a little bit of wrestling when Connor got me in a headlock mid-session 😂 The wind might have been in our faces, but it didn’t stop us having an awesome night.
