If I Had Only a Yard of Sand... The Garden I'd Build to Never Buy Vegetables Again

Picture this: the only ground you have is a yard of pure, dead sand. Not soil, not a lawn, not one bed of dark crumbly earth, just a dry, pale, sun-baked patch of sand where the grass gave up years ago and even the weeds will not bother, the yard everyone looks at and says nothing grows there.
