The ravelian piano: learning through copying 1/2
A film by Rémy Campos about Pierre Goy's research project: “The Ravelian Piano: Learning through copying a tutorial aid”, 2016. The Piano-copying project aims at exploring original processes of learning the piano, based on copying old sound recordings on the keyboard, in this particular case, pieces by Maurice Ravel, recorded by Vlado Perlemuter. The film highlights the challenges of rediscovery for a group of students and teachers of a forgotten piano technique and the educational potential of work based on historic sound documents.
