Tupolev TU-154M – Between Vnukovo and Pulkovo with Rossiya

For over three decades the TU-154 was widely spread in Russia, but all of a sudden most of them were withdrawn from active service by 2010. Before that, the airliner was gradually reduced on international routs, leaving her racing Russia’s domestic network - with Aeroflot and Rossiya being the largest operators. Both airlines retired their complete fleets nearly simultaneously, and with the bankruptcy of other smaller operators, the airliner that once posed the majority on the mayor airports in Russia was a rarity with the blink of en eye! Today older films of Tupolev- action show how flying in Russia was like not too long ago. It included free meal choices even on shorter hops, free drinks and of course the sounds, smells and feelings of real flying! Those times will be missed, but also remembered by those who were lucky to witness these times!
