Putrid Marsh (US) - In Solitude (Demo 2023)

Another excellent release from the primary creative output of the Reclusive Goblin (Warped Skull, Oozing Tunnel). A more plaintive and introspective release this time, in "In Solitude", the Goblin roams alone, through the dark and withering forests surrounding the tormented bog where unknown, equally tormented creatures roam, who long turned to murderous intents due to the oozing necropsychic fumes of the putrid marsh corrupting their lasts shards of hope and gleam. No creature should roam lonesome through these dangerous paths, but the Goblin knows one can find true tranquility and introspection by roaming these long forgotten, ravaged lands. And so "In Solitude" is the perfect soundtrack for such tormented enlightenment. Over half an hour of mournful, introspective Dark Ambient/Dungeon Synth, Putrid Marsh continues to make some of the best music in the genre. Creating an intoxicating and intriguing outer reality, with high potential for escapism, as all Dungeon Synth should be, Putrid Marsh definitely stands out amongst the rest with his excellent abilities in songwriting, always very dynamic, with a lot of different elements, from various synth effects, to guitars, to more austere keyboards and the more cosmic elements of 70s and 80s New Age music. However without discarding the darkness and bizarre evil that should be present in the genre, with disquieting atmospheres, often nurturing from evil inspiration that comes from the French LLN, particularly Moëvöt Two special editions were released on tape via Maniac Mutant Music.
