Why I Quit Front Mission 3 Remake

Guys, I love this game. It was a huge surprise to me when I first gravitated toward this series. I love Mecha, but I’ve never truly latched onto strategy games; I play them from time to time, but they aren’t typically a go-to genre for me. But Front Mission 3 is different. I like basically everything it does. Even the clunky original translation has its charm for me. Sure, it’s a little older, the loads are long, and the pacing is unique—but the game has heart and grit that I just gravitate toward. I was devastated by that trailer and demo footage. And while the game has been improved since then, it will never be what I hyped it up to be. I don’t enjoy being a negative reviewer; I prefer to look for the positive in things whenever possible. At its core, there is nothing inherently "wrong" with this game, and saying we "deserve better" can sometimes feel, to me anyway, a bit entitled. I tried to take the blame myself—to hold my own expectations responsible. I told myself it wasn't as bad as it looked and that my hype was just too high. I was determined to buy it and play it because I wanted to come around. I wanted to enjoy it. But I just can’t. Like this content and want to join Coolbirb in supporting the channel?
