BB18 ¼ 1089 - ARHS Steam Train to Grandchester - 26/07/2025

On Saturday 26th July 2025, the Queensland Division of the Australian Railway Historical Society in conjunction with Queensland Rail, chartered a steam train to travel from Ipswich to Grandchester and return as part of the QR's 160th Birthday celebrations. BB18 ¼ 1089 was turned out in immaculate condition as to were the 9 turn of the century wooden carriages that would convey passengers to Grandchester and return. Upon arrival at Grandchester, passengers could buy lunch from one of the many food vendors that had setup in the station grounds, view some historic cars, sit down and enjoy the live music or simply tour the station precinct. There was even a petting zoo with baby animals for the children to interact with. The return journey was made in between rain showers arriving back at the Workshops Rail Museum just as the rain had set in for the remainder of the day.
