3 Miles, No Meetings, and Total Peace

I took a 3-mile walk this morning, and it got me thinking about what a true blessing it is to simply be able to move easily at 63 years old. Yes, I have my share of minor aches and pains, but compared to the alternative, I am incredibly grateful. It made me look back at my past life in the corporate world. I think about a good friend of mine who is currently in his late 50s. He has a completely full schedule, absolutely no time for himself, and is constantly being micromanaged. He's trapped in a cycle of endless meetings, high-stakes sales calls, and hours of daily driving. Retirement has given me the ultimate peace of mind to walk away from that noise. No more alarms, no more corporate metrics, no more driving across territories. Just the freedom to enjoy a morning walk and appreciate the basic blessings of sight, hearing, and smell. Please excuse the coughing and throat clearing in this one, folks! The spring allergy season here in the Ohio Valley is hitting me hard today, but I wanted to share this message with you raw and unedited, right from the patio.
