Esee 4 S35VN Unboxing and Initial Impressions

*Knife appears @ 4:40* Pre-Ordered this knife from an online retailer. Really excited to get this knife in hand and get my initial thoughts on my first Esee fixed blade. Available in the 3D G10 shown here, standard linen micarta, and orange G10 slabs. S35VN is an "upgraded" steel from 1095 or 440C. 1095 is definitely still the standard for a bomb proof, thumping blade. There are trade-offs when talking blade steel all the time. My reasoning for purchasing in S35VN is that I am looking for something a bit lower in maintenance. I understand I am losing some in "toughness" by going to a harder more brittle steel. This sheath is molded plastic or an undisclosed "polymer". Esee does offer kydex with some of their models. I may look at something aftermarket in a taco design rather than pancake down the road anyway.
