Ma femme essaie un VTTAE... et elle m'a détruit ! | La Grave Gravel 2026

La Grave Gravel is one of the most beautiful gravel events in the Cantal region... but this year, things didn't go quite as planned! After a long period of work-related fatigue, Corinne (my Choupette) decided to leave her regular gravel bike in the garage and rent a Scott Patron eRide (e-MTB). Her goal was simple: to fully enjoy the magnificent trails of the Cantal, climb the volcanoes with a smile, and savor every kilometer. The result? The world turned upside down! For two days, the onboard camera showed Choupette in rocket mode ("Pogacar mode" activated!), calmly waiting for me at the top of the hills... while I used up the last of my energy reserves on my gravel bike trying not to lose her wheel! On the agenda for this 2026 edition of La Grave Gravel: 👉 Day 1: 68 km - 1450 m of elevation gain, including the discovery of Lac du Pêcher, a quarry crossing, and an unforgettable refreshment stop at a cheese factory... with cheese delivered to the finish line! 👉 Day 2: Originally planned as a 70 km stage, it was ultimately shortened to 55 km and 1000 m of elevation gain following a prefectural decree related to the heatwave in the Puy-de-Dôme region. Despite this last-minute change, the scenery with the Puy Mary as a backdrop will remain a huge highlight. Beyond the incredible landscapes and the ever-so-friendly atmosphere, this edition will remain very special for us. A huge thank you to the entire La Grave Gravel team for their warm welcome and consistently excellent organization. And above all, a huge thank you to all the subscribers who came to chat with us, take a photo, or simply say hello. Several of you told us you were here this weekend because of our video from last year. Honestly, we weren't expecting that, and it touched us deeply. Get comfortable, enjoy the volcanic landscapes of the Cantal region... and as we always say...
