I'm starting a new "let's go somewhere" series, and the first stop is Akihabara — Tokyo's famous anime and electronics district. It's hugely popular with visitors from overseas, and I wanted to see why with my own eyes. I dove into floors of anime figures (some over ¥120,000 / $755), hunted through retro games from the Famicom, Super Famicom, Game Boy and PlayStation eras, browsed plastic models still priced at ¥500, and grabbed some famous truffle-mayo fries. So many childhood memories came flooding back.
