Zu Tisch in Polen - Pilzsaison in Piertanie

In the Polish forests, mushrooms burst forth in abundance from the fertile soil in autumn. There are about a hundred edible mushroom species to distinguish. Anna Zukowska uses some of the mushrooms fresh, while preserving others by pickling or drying. One season's harvest must be enough for the next year. Mushrooms play an important role in Anna's kitchen: she fills mushroom stuffing into dumplings or uses them to make mushroom fritters. "At the Table in..." goes back to where European culinary art has its roots: in the regions of Europe where the fields, pastures, and fishing grounds produce authentically prepared and enjoyed to this day.
