Firefighters Battle Fast-Moving Brush Fire In Riverside

08.25.2019 | 11:00 AM | RIVERSIDE - Firefighters were battling a fast-moving brush fire, Sunday morning. Authorities responded to reports of a vegetation fire near the northbound I-15 Freeway near Temescal Canyon in the unincorporated Temescal Valley around 11:00 AM. Crews arriving on scene located an approximately one acre fire burning in heavy vegetation. Firefighters quickly attacked the flames from air and ground but despite their efforts the fire quickly grew to over 30 acres. No injuries were immediately reported and all northbound lanes of the I-15 Freeway were closed until further notice to accommodate firefighting activity. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
