Unusual Consists Through Rose Canyon July 17th 2026

While I was in Rose Canyon, I saw a Superliner II Sightseer Lounge Car in place of the Surfliner Coach/Cafe Car on Amtrak 564, the CEM Consist with Cabcar 422 leading on Coaster 630, NPCU 90225 leading Amtrak 573 along with a California Car in its consist, the second CEM Consist with Cabcar 423 trailing on Coaster 629, and finally, I saw P42DC 192 leading Amtrak 566 along with a wrapped car for the city of Ventura, CA in its consist. These consists were very unusual and I must say that they really made my day. Wow! That was so awesome! Anyways, please enjoy the video. Trains: Train 1: Amtrak 564 (SC-44 2110, Cabcar 6904) Train 2: Coaster 630 (Cabcar 422, SC-44 5005) Train 3: Amtrak 573 (NPCU 90225, SC-44 2120) Train 4: Coaster 629 (SC-44 5004, Cabcar 423) Train 5: Amtrak 566 (P42DC 192, Cabcar 6903) NOTE: The reason why there were a bunch of unusual consists passing through Rose Canyon on this day was due to the opening of the Del Mar horse racing season.
