日中走らない日中線。廃線となった国鉄路線の乗車記録

🚃 The Nicchu Line stretched from Kitakata, Fukushima Prefecture. It was only an 11.6km dead-end line, but it opened in 1938 (Showa 13) as part of the planned Noiwaba Line, connecting Imaichi City, Tochigi Prefecture, and Yonezawa City, Yamagata Prefecture. However, due to the effects of the war, the extension to Yonezawa never came to fruition, and the line was discontinued at the end of March 1984. The short route to its terminus, Atsushio Onsen, became known as the "Nicchu Line that doesn't run during the day." I rode this line on August 12, 1983, during the summer of my high school days.
