Case Information: From the end of 2012, Le Dinh Kiem persuaded his older brother, Le Van Hanh, to plan and execute a drug trafficking operation from Nghe An to provinces and cities in the Southeast region. By August 2013, Kiem and Hanh had illegally transported, stored, and traded over 600 bricks of heroin. On August 5, 2013, defendant Ngo Thi My Van was caught red-handed by the Binh Duong Provincial Police while transporting 2 bricks of heroin purchased from Kiem for consumption. Immediately afterwards, the Investigation Police Agency of Binh Duong Provincial Police expanded the investigation, made an emergency arrest and searched Kiem's residence, seizing 34 bricks of heroin. Through interrogation, Kiem confessed that from the end of 2012 until his arrest, he had transported more than 600 bricks of heroin and 879.70 grams of synthetic drugs from Nghe An to Binh Duong through Hanh. Kiem found buyers for approximately 570 bricks of heroin and paid Hanh over $3 million USD, 4,000 AUD, and over 18.9 billion VND, earning a profit of nearly 4 billion VND in cash. Kiem used this money to buy cars and spend on his family. Separately, 99,400 USD and over 4 billion VND were seized by the police at Kiem's house from the sale of dozens of heroin bricks that had not yet been handed over to Hanh.
