People Rising: Carbon Justice
In Sierra Leone’s coastal town of Bonthe, communities are standing at the forefront of land and climate justice. With Namati’s support, 220 local communities negotiated with Africa Conservation Initiative to protect their rights, setting a global precedent of how carbon projects can be more fair and equitable. This short film captures that journey and vision, spotlighting six carbon justice principles that reimagine how carbon markets can work for people and the planet.
