Backpacking the John P. Saylor Trail with Friends!
In this Episode: As much as we love RVing as a family, backpacking with friends has become a big part of our journey! Here, I’m joined by friends @dayhikedave and @MaksimOutdoors for an adventure on the John P. Saylor Trail. Hiking with them has brought us some really good times, and this one was no exception! Please subscribe to their channels! The John P. Saylor Trail is an 18 mile figure eight loop through the Gallitzin State Forest in Sommerset County Pennsylvania. The Southern Loop of the trail will enter into the Clear Shade Wild Area. The trail is mostly flat, and traverses dense bogs full of Cotton Grass and other wildflowers. It’s not scenery that Pennsylvania is known for, and that’s what makes this trail so unique. Our first day on the trail will take us across a scenic suspension bridge and into the Clear Shade Wild Area. Here we’ll get a short glimpse into the boggy terrain that we’ll enter into on day 2, then enter into a dense forest before finding our shelter for the night. Our goal was to reach this famed Adirondack Shelter before anyone else on this holiday weekend. If we make its there, we have plans for a mighty campfire and just a good time! Join us for part two as soon as I can get it edited! I appreciate everyone, wholeheartedly, for following our adventures! I really hope to bring you more in the future. Please bear with us… Friends, welcome to our RV Camping and Adventure channel. Ryan and Rachel here, we are weekend warriors with a mission to highlight RVing in the eastern United States. We are joined by our daughter Sarah, son William, and our two dogs (Lilly and Theodore). Home is in Pennsylvania, and while PA is our favorite State to explore, we’ve found there’s much more to explore! We’ve traded in our Wildwood, and we’ll be camping from now on in our 2024 Salem 29View! We’re pulling it with our 2021 RAM 2500 BigHorn. We hope you will subscribe, join us on some of our adventures and be inspired to go on your own adventures. Our Full 2025 Camping and Adventure Playlist: • 2025 Adventures!
