DMU's pass through this crossing towards Nar Nar Goon, and suburban EMU's pass through this crossing to shunt out to the newly constructed Pakenham East Depot and Sidings. As of the time of publishing, work is underway and nearing completion on grade separation at this level crossing, along with 2 other level crossings nearby, being Main St and McGregor Rd, Pakenham; and a new Pakenham station. The crossing equipment includes: Westinghouse LED Lights Westinghouse Crossarms 1 Westinghouse 2nd Gen Hybrid M-Bell 1 General Signals Type 3 E-Bell Safetran Boom Gate mechanisms 1 WCH Base and 3 Unmarked Bases As of publishing, this crossing has been listed as one of the level crossings to be removed by the Level Crossing Removal Project (LXRP), and is in the middle of grade seperation. Trains are set to run overhead in an elevated rail corridor over McGregor Rd, Main St, and Racecourse Rd. This project includes a new Pakenham Station, and a short electrification extension to a newly built Pakenham East Station. This is planned to be finished by this year (2024).
