One year, roughly 3,000 kilometers – city, country roads, highways, in 35-degree heat and 8-degree weather. After twelve months with the Royal Enfield Bear 650, I'm taking an honest look: no marketing hype, just the Moto50plus scorecard with four categories and a maximum of four helmets per category. 47 hp, 56.5 Nm, air-oil-cooled twin-cylinder engine, 7,890 euros – is that enough for a motorcycle you buy with your heart and that, after a year, also convinces your head? I'll dissect the enjoyment factor, the comfort for riders over 50, its suitability for touring, and its value for money. I'll talk about my two modifications (Hagon shocks and the Signature seat), the luggage solution with leather panniers and Lomo dry bags – and what's missing from the factory: a windscreen and a center stand. In the end, the crucial question remains: Would I buy the Bear 650 again?
