Ni delincuente ni líder indígena: Lino Ponce responde a acusaciones

Lino Ponce Guerrero, a member of the Union of Peoples and Organizations of the State of Guerrero (UPOEG), rejected accusations linking him to alleged ties with organized crime groups and asserted that he is not a leader of the organization. In an interview, he stated that he is also a displaced person and maintained that his work is limited to community outreach and facilitating the return of families who have had to abandon their communities. Ponce explained that the UPOEG is organized through a council and that its community police officers are elected by assembly under the system of traditional customs and practices. He also stated that he has filed complaints with the authorities regarding the attacks he has suffered and reiterated that his sole objective is for displaced people to be able to return to their places of origin.
