Life without a smartphone and social media? Lisa tried a three-day digital detox – a tough challenge. She feels she uses her smartphone far too often in everyday life and can hardly disconnect. A researcher explains to her when smartphone use becomes dangerous, and she meets Felix, who has never owned a smartphone. 💘📱 Smartphone Addiction Smartphone addiction, like social media addiction, is not yet an official diagnosis. However, Dr. Julia Brailovskaia from the Research and Treatment Center for Mental Health at Ruhr University Bochum is researching this topic. She focuses on the negative effects of smartphone use, such as dissatisfaction and depression. ☝🏼 Tips for Smartphone Overload 1. Regularly check your screen time. 2. Delete apps that aren't good for you. 3. Don't use your smartphone right before bed or during the night. This can lead to sleep disturbances.
