When 10k Feels Like a Marathon | Mourne Mountains Hike

Welcome back to the channel, and a massive thanks to ‪@stephensophietracygrace626‬ for tonight’s awesome thumbnail! Join me for a full-day leg burner in the stunning Mourne Mountains, starting from Carrick Little car park and tackling three big ascents: first up our favourite Slieve Binnian, then dropping along the Mourne Wall side to the rarely-done climb of Wee Binnian (and wow, it was a slog!), then finishing with the final push up Slieve Binnian East Top, and back to Carrick Little. What was billed as a 10k loop felt more like a marathon, our legs were tired, the pace slowed, but Stephen and I got it done. In this video you’ll see: • Why we love Slieve Binnian from the off, the views, the drama, the sense of route. • How dropping to the Mourne Wall side opened a completely different angle on the terrain. • A first-time push up Wee Binnian: the effort, the grind, the reward of reaching it. • Lunch break reflections on routes, gear, mindset (and yes, energy levels). • The final climb up East Top: steep, satisfying, and the kind you remember. • A descent back down the Carrick Little track, leg-burn and all, to close the loop. • Honest thoughts on a day when “just a 10k loop” becomes a proper outing. If you’re into hiking, wild camping, walking, running or just being outdoors, this one’s for you. If you like following along with real-world routes (with highs, lows, and everything in between) hit that like button, subscribe and share with a friend who’s planning a hike in the Mournes. Gear & companions: Of course I couldn’t have done it without Stephen, thanks bro for the laughs, the pace keeping, and the awesome company. Subscribe & stay tuned: I’ll be back with more wild-camping, trail-running, hiking and behind-the-scenes outdoors content here on the channel. If you’re not yet part of the squad, now’s a good time to join.
