Entry #14 — Boyana Waterfall · Where Winter Held On

Entry #14 — Boyana Waterfall · ~8km · 650m D+ · Solo Two paths lead to Boyana's waterfall. One is marked "dangerous" (for inexperienced tourist). I took that one first. The waterfall was still running — but winter hadn't fully let go. At the bottom, the cold had claimed what it could and frozen it in place. The water falls into ice. The kind of thing you don't expect until you're standing in front of it. Above the waterfall, a view the trail doesn't advertise. Worth the climb. On the way back — the easy path, Boyana lake, and the kind of quiet that only comes from a day well spent in the hills. A light day by the numbers. Not light in what it gave back.
