A História de Izaías Mendes

Izaías Mendes formally began his career in 1987 with the release of the album "Obrigado, Meu Amigo," but great success only came the following year with the release of the album "Doce Unção," which contains the hit "Santuário," with which he became known throughout Brazil, having traveled to several European countries, fulfilling schedules. "Santuário," which received other re-recordings from Izaias in Brazil, is a Portuguese version of "Santuary," a composition by Americans Randy Scruggs and John W. Thompson, from 1982. During the 90s, Izaias recorded other albums, however, in 2009, he felt the desire to pastor a church, and thus became pastor of the Shalom Christian Church, which completed 12 years on October 26th. Due to dedicating himself to the pastoral ministry, he no longer had the same focus on his artistic career. In 2010, he released the compilation album "Santuário 25 anos" and in 2013 "Na Sala do Trono," his last album, which, unfortunately, is not available on any digital platforms.
