Newcastle Recycling - Ex Canterbury

SL00772 began its life working in Canterbury council working alongside 3 identical units. Cleanaway commenced operations in Canterbury in 2012 and was taken over by council itself in 2020-2021. 772 was the only truck that was given a second life elsewhere. It was sent north to Central Coast to run around helping where it can. In November 2023 Cleanaway picked up the recycling contract in Newcastle after out bidding local company Solo Resource Recovery. Central Coast driver Simon put his hand up to assist with helping the new team settle in. With him he brought 772. This unit ran around Newcastle mostly doing missed collecting for the first month of the contract until Simon returned to Central Coast taking 772 with him. Our only spare unit now is Ex Narrabri SL00947. This was taken in the inner city suburb known as ‘The Hill’ one warm Wednesday morning. Collections are due to take place here on a Tuesday morning however due to teething issues a suburb worth was left behind for the next day. The last clip however was a fortnight later on a Wednesday with the same scenario of missed Tuesday collections left for Wednesday. However in this case it was a singular unit line that was accidentally missed. Big thanks to Simon 👌
